Farewell Stampin Up

I have worked for this company for several years happily. I am very sad that they are not allowing their demonstrators to continue to work for them if they serve on any design teams for companies or challenge blogs. I am very ticked that it's ok though, for someone to work at a local stamp/scrapbook store and get a paycheck for selling a competing product. That is unfair in my opinion. Here's their statement:

"While much of the IDA remains the same, there are significant changes to Section 9; this section outlines restrictions on representation of competing companies or products. The changes we've made are primarily related to electronic communications, although you'll see that we've also been more specific about activities taking place at both company- and demonstrator-organized Stampin' Up! events.

The electronic communication changes relate specifically to promoting, marketing, and selling competitive products (such as decorative stamps, stamp art accessories, scrapbooking products, digital arts solutions, and vinyl wall art). Behavior that is prohibited includes providing purchasing information, referrals to catalogs or publications, or links to blogs and web sites on any electronic communications.

  1. This is so unfair and I know if they also do this to us here in the UK I for one will no longer want to be a demonstrator.

  2. I'll also be stepping down, Lisa. It really is sad that they think this will help, not hurt, them.

  3. I haven't heard ONE demo who is going to stay! Not one...maybe they're out there somewhere.

  4. I'm having to leave, too. Reasons are on my blog--the provisions are so broad they impact my day job as a Web publisher of UNRELATED sites.

  5. I've left too...how sad! Not only have they lost me as a Demo, but I'll no longer be a Customer either! I'm an equal opportunity stamper...always have been, it's really too bad.
