The Fresh Batch Sketch #43

I went with a snowman theme for this sketch. I used the "I Love Snow" set from Stamps and Smiles. I stamped the scarf onto red paper instead of coloring it in. I think this gave it more dimension. The little strip of snowmen along the bottom is a piece of designer paper by My Mind's Eye. Please stop by Stamps and Smiles, The Fresh Batch to see everyone's inspiration samples for this sketch. We'd love for you to play along with us this week!

Mo's Digital Challenge #9

Sorry there's so many photos on this post, but I didn't want to leave any part of it out! This challenge was to make a Christmas Card for someone special using traditional Christmas colors. I got a warm fuzzy feeling from this image with the fireplace. I made it into a "homey" card. The sentiments on each panel are my own creation. I got the pretty glow of the fire from using chalks. The image is digital, colored with Copics and the dimension on the fireplace is from Scotch quick dry glue. I have better luck with this on digital images. The designer paper on the side panels is from Basic Grey. I am so pleased with this project! Please stop by Mo's Challenge Blog to see everyone's inspiration and play along with us!

Fuzzy Penguin Gift Bag

This week the Designers at Angel's Landing were challenged to create a gift bag of sorts. I found this neat vellum one on Splitcoast. I even found some colored vellum in my stash! What a neat gift sack! The tutorial for this bag is here. It's so easy you can print it out on a regular sheet and trace it onto your vellum! I love one sheet projects! This time of year handy little gift sacks like this are very handy to have around! I used the Penguin Chicks from Angel's Landing for my image. I colored it with Copic markers and framed it with a thin black and then sparkly red paper. I used some teeny meeny silver brads for each corner since glitter paper does not like to stay stuck down for me! The bag handle is some old scrap wire red ribbon I had on hand. You could use a regular ribbon, or even skip a handle alltogether. Be sure you stop by the Angel's Landing Blog and see everyone's wonderful take on this project!

Here Kitty Kitty!

What a fun image for a Christmas Card! I particularly love the sparkly bow! I can only do this with non-digi stamps and love the effect! I colored it with a red Copic marker, top it with a red Spica marker (the sparkle is from this one), then top it off with Crystal Effects (or similar product). It won't work on digi stamps as they end up bleeding from the moisture. The flowers I used are all Primas. I wanted a shiny ribbon and ended up chopping a Christmas ribbon in half! Worked like a charm. The pretty holly background paper is the Martha Stewart stack from Michael's. I am getting into charms too! I wish they were easier to find! This one came in a variety pack from England. You can get this cute stamp at Whimsy's Store. It's one of Chrissy Armstrong's designs.
Please don't forget Whimsy Stamps has a lot going on in December! There is a Christmas card contest going on (no I'm not entering my cards hehe, I like creating for Denise!). You just have to use a Whimsy image and have it submitted by Dec. 12th.
There is also the Whimsy Advent Event going on the entire month. It begins Dec. 1st. The entire Design Team is participating so you will want to check the Whimsy Blog for where the give away is each day! It's easy too, all you will have to do is leave a comment! That's a lot of chances to win so don't miss out!

Woo Hoo I'm guest desiging for Squigglefly!

I'm so excited to share that Ashley at Squigglefly has graciously invited me to guest design for her this month! This is my first project. I am amazed at the selection of images she has there! If you haven't checked it out you will want to! I used Copics to color this lil cutie. The little sentiment is an old one from Stampin Up that I just couldn't resist using on this. I will share more Squigglefly projects with you later this month!
P.S. Squigglefly is hosting a design team call. Details can be found here. Deadline is 12/10

Project Tuesday-Easel Card

I have become a huge fan of these easel cards. They just showcase your work so well! Here's a link to a tutorial if you need a good one. I used "A Balanced Holiday" from My Favorite Things (a sweet surprise gift from my friend Judi!). I paper pieced the tree. All the designer paper on this is from Basic Grey. The card stock is Stampin Up. I used three tiny white brads for the easel. The green ribbon is also Stampin Up. Please check out the wonderful inspiration samples at Project Tuesday! We'd also love for you to join us!
