Haunted Halloween

Told you guys I enjoyed making Halloween cards hehe. This one was soooo fun! I love to use sponges and different stamp pads to make backgrounds! The Bat Motel stamp from The Rubber Cafe' was the perfect stamp for a cool background! I did have to mask the house, but that's not hard! To mask it I stamped the entire house on a piece of scrap card stock, carefully cut it out, and along the edge place removable adhesive (I used Tombo). I place this piece exactly on top of the original stamped image. So the piece with the temporary adhesive is exactly on top and completely covers the original image. Now you take the little yellow circular craft sponges cut into wedges. You will start with the lightest color and work to darkest, sponging out from the center of the image. When you're happy with the color of your background, carefully pull up the mask and remove any residue on the original image. VOILA! Not too tough now was it??? Next was to color in the base images....the moon, tree and yard. For the moon I used Copic's Y17 and YR23, the tree is colored completely over with a Sakura black gelly pen (medium tip), and the yard is gray and black chalks. I went over the bats with a thin black marker to define them. Now for the cool looking house! There are 3 layers to mine. The first layer is the original image on the big piece of card stock. Just color the entire thing a shade of grey, it won't matter which . The second layer is cut completely out. I colored it with W1, W3, W5, and W7. The windows are Y13 and Y23. I did a third layer of the bottom left section of the house, where the front door is. Each layer is separated with thin dimensional adhesive. The windows are topped with Aleene's paper glaze (or similar product) to make them shine. This entire square is sponged around the edge with black. The ribbon tabs are Halloween Ribbon, Celebrate It Harvest from Michael's. This sheet is layered on a dark purple, then black, then dotted orange piece (BoBunny Orange Citrus Dot).
The inside of the card is cool too! I have really been working on not neglecting this part of my work! I used a "label" shaped Nestability to make the center piece of orange. The sentiment is "Frightful Halloween", the image is "Creepy Fence and Tree" both by The Rubber Cafe'. I embossed the fence and tree in black. The tree is not solid, and I thought it would flow better with the card if it were...so I filled it in with the black gelly pen.
Wow...I really wrote a lot, but I wanted you to know what I did since it was such a fun card! Hope you like it!
