Don't faint, it's not a card, but a pretty rose pin

I know it's quite the departure for me! I had fun though :) This is a pin I whipped up for the Simon Says challenge this week. I used one of the little glass slides from Inksesstials ( 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches). I've had them in a drawer forever hehe. I used black Staz on ink on one side of the side to stamp the big rose from Fifth Ave Florals (Stampin Up). On the opposite side I used Ranger Alchohol Inks in Cranberry, Currant, and Wild Plum. I just messed around with them till I got a color combination on the slide I liked. I let this dry a few then used some Scotch quick dry adhesive to glue a piece of thin card stock to the alcohol ink side. You can experiment with colors of paper behind your design...you get something different with every color! I used a Versamark pad and gold embossing powder to do the edges of the slide...I did this twice on each side so it wouldn't have sharp edges. I glued some gold lace (Michael's, Prima Nursery Rhyme trim) around the back edges of the slide. I topped this with a little square piece of chipboard and smooshed it so it is as flat as possible. I put a pin back on the chipboard piece so it could be actually functional! Voila...a pretty little pin.
p.s. I did end up scratching the black staz on image, but filled it in with a thin line sharpie and fixed it right up!
