Red Flowers for a Birthday

This bright card uses images from Tracey at Fred She Said Designs. You can see this image here. This image is digital, so I flipped it to frame my sentiment. The sentiment is a rub on I nabbed at Target a long time ago. I knew it would come in handy hehe. I colored the images with Copics and then topped them with some Stickles to add sparkle...ya know how I luuuuuv sparkles!!! I added a few tiny sticky gem diamonds around the flowers. The bottom of the card is scored in a graphic design from my Scor-Pal. Pretty simple design but I think it sets off the images well! Hope you enjoy it!

I have to share that my Angel card is a featured card over at SNR Card Universe!! How cool is that???
Here's a link to check it out. You will have to register to see it, but it's free and there's lots of cool cards!!!

Weiner dog get well wishes

I think you guys know I'm a dog fanatic! I am crazy about my two...Missie a dachshund and Tiffers (Tiffany) a little chihuahua that has no comprehension of her actual size! So when I came across this digital stamp it had to join my collection! It's from Victoria Case Designs and you can see it here. You'll have to scroll down to it, I can't do a direct link to that specific image. The title is "Picking Flowers" She has some really cute and some very unique designs. I nabbed a saucy maid image (same page of images, titled "OoLaLa") for my hubby's birthday card this past week! He thought it was the best card I'd ever made him lol. I'll have to share that one with you all yet! Anyway...this card is a sketch challenge on the VC Blog. I love sketches!!! This cute pooch is on it's way to my sister Jayme. She's fighting lung cancer and is at MD Anderson in Houston for 3 weeks of treatment. I'm hoping it brightens her day...she's a dachshund person too! Prayers for her would be wonderful! Happy Tuesday!

Pull Treat for Project Tuesday!

Who doesn't love a quick easy sweet gift for someone who's done something nice for you? This lil bag is perfect! I think it took me maybe 15 minutes to do! The paper is new Stampin Up designer paper "Nouveau Chic". The ribbon is just black satin ribbon from Michael's. The image on the mini card is Stampin Up's "Of the Earth" set. I added Stickles in black diamond to the butterfly. It's really difficult to see, but I also added more sparkle with a clear Spica marker around the mini card and on the flowers. The sentiment is from Stampin Up's "Crazy for Cupcakes" set. There is a tutorial here for the specifics. Be sure to stop by the Stamps and Smiles Project Tuesday blog to see the other wonderful ideas the DT came up with! We'd love to see your take on it too!

Christmas in July

It is really hard for me to dust off the Christmas stamps and paper to create when it's steamy outside! I don't know why...I'm just weird I guess! This cute little couple are a card I made for the challenge at Magnolialicious Highlites blog { link }. I used a different Tilda than the one smooching Edwin back just for kicks. I think her giggling expression is adorable with his smooch! I made the background trees from an old CTMH set, Christmas Tree. I stamped them in white craft ink (SU) and used white slick Tulip squirt paint to add the snow. The glitter is chunky white (SU) and DecoArt's Glamor Dust (love how fine this stuff is!). I was thrilled with how the trees turned out! The little bench they are sitting on is by Flower Soft, Quiet Corner Bench. Hope you enjoy a little cheer this hot summer day!

Monarch Fairy with a friend

I am so pleased with how this little piece of art turned out! The image is from I Brake for Stamps { LINK }. I like the expression on the little girl's face. I had a great time coloring this image as well, especially the water! I used copics and then a Sakura Jelly pen in black on the little girl's wings. I did spray gold Glimmer Mist over the entire image to give it some shimmer. Ya know how I can't live without sparkles!! The background paper is tempting turquoise (SU). I used a Spellbinders metal embossing plate with my Big Shot to get the texture on the teal. I sponged over it with elegant eggplant (SU) to add more color. The little sticky gems are a Martha Stewart find from Walmart!! I love em! Please be sure to clik on the image so you can see a better picture of it...the detail is worth the clik I promise!

There is a freebie image and contest to win the entire new release plus $20 to spend at the FSS store!!!! The link to this little lady is here. I used copic markers to color her. I added a dimensional flower to her hair and a couple pink gems on her antennae. Her wings are stickled to add more sparkle. I hope you find her as cute as I do!

Pretty Angel Fairy

This is another of the butterfly fairies I'm crazy about! They are sketched by Chris and you can see all the beautiful work here. This card is HUGE by my standards, but I just had to do one of these really large! It was so fun to color in all the details and make them stand out. I think it did the image justice! This is a special card for my very special Aunt Judy who is celebrating a birthday soon. She is in her 80's and I've actually got her started making cards!!! I'm so glad she's having fun with it!!! Hope you all enjoy this card!
P.S. forgot to tell you it's all copics and her hair garland is flower soft

Echinacea

I am seeing these pretty flowers all over lately and thought I'd make a card in their honor! This pretty image is from KLM Designs { link here }. It is a digital image and I had a blast coming up with this design. I colored the image background in a light gray to give it some depth. I used copics for the image. The nifty background paper is from my stash and so old I'm embarassed hehe. The little shimmery dots are from Stamping Bella. I sponged Holtz distress ink, in brushed corduroy, around the image. Enjoy!

Dusted off my Bellas!

I haven't used my Bella stamps in a long time! I dusted them off for a Fresh Batch sketch challenge at Stamps and Smiles. This is Butterfly Bella. You can see the challenge here. I had fun with it! The floral background paper is flocked, but didn't photograph well. It was nice to do a quick simple card! Hope you enjoy it!

Birthday Treat

I had never tried to make one of the sour cream boxes, but wow what a quick easy little thing! I made an itzy bitzy one too! This is my contribution to today's Project Tuesday { link }. Be sure to head over and check out everyone's take on this! The variety is amazing! The tutorial for this can be found { here }. I used vellum to make mine, you can use almost any medium...even the acrylic! Instead of a little image tag on mine, I chose to make it more of a favor and be the support for my little image. I made the candy coordinate with my cupcake too hehe. The image is "Stella's cupcake" from Stamping Bella. I used Stampin Up's chunky green glitter for the cupcake. The sticky gem "cherry" is from EK Success "precious finds". I colored Stella with Copics. I used a birthday sentiment on a little banner strip of vellum in Memento Ink (I let it dry overnight). Hope you are inspired by this week's project and create something fun!!

Fred She Said Blog Hop, Contest and New Release!

This pretty image is the freebie Tracey is giving away for her contest at Fred She Said Designs. You can find it here, make a card and be entered to win the ENTIRE new release plus $20 to spend in the store! WOW!!!! You can see the new release images here.
About my card...I used Tracey's image and colored it with Copic markers. I used my largest oval and scalloped oval nesties to mount the image. The paper is a felted flower by Doodlebug called Spring Garden. I used little green dots by Stamping Bella and the green ribbon is Stampin Up. The inside sentiment is by Impression Obsession. I made the actual pocket card template a long time ago, but think there are surely some available now!

Pink Fairy

Yep, I'm still on my fairy thing. I hope you're not all sick of them hehe. This one is from I Brake For Stamps and can be found { here }. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder on the solid pink background paper. The fairy is colored with Copics and embellished with Stickles in crystal, and tiny sticky gems. The flowers are all 3 Prima, topped with a pink sticky gem. I hope you enjoy her!!! Have a great Monday!

Every Bear Loves Lilacs

Lilacs are one of my most favorite flowers! I love their fragrance! This cute bear is a "Gruffie". I have 4 or 5 of them and love their sweet images! I made this card for the Copic challenge this week of "Botanicals" (link here). I used purple paper from my stash. The sentiment is from the old "carte postale" Stampin Up set. I hope you enjoy it!

Summer Strawberries

I love House Mouse stamps! I hadn't used Copics to color any and thought this one would lend itself well to that. I am really pleased with how it turned out. I had this strawberry paper in my stash. I sponged all the edges with Jim Holtz distress ink in brushed corduroy. The "ribbon" is really raffia that comes on a roll. It's super easy to use! The flower is a Prima also sponged with the distress ink. I had the strawberry button in my stash as well. I just chopped off the back and used a dot to glue it down. I think it gave the card the perfect finishing touch! Makes me want strawberry pie!!! Happy summer everyone!

Elephant Card

I made this cute little elephant card for the Cuttlebug challenge this week (link is here). I used the elephant from KLM Designs (link here). I love digistamps! They are so fast and easy hehe. The paper I used this time is even digital! It's the weekly freebie from Digital Scrapbook Place on 12/4/06. I used the "spots and dots" Cuttlebug embossing folder for the background behind the elephant. The flower he's holding is from the Nursery Rhyme collection by Prima. The gray knots on the top left are Stampin Up's taffeta ribbon in gray, the other is from my stash and I cant' remember where it came from. I colored the image with Copic markers. Have a great evening!

Bright (I mean REALLY) Birthday!

WOW you just might need sunglasses to look at this one! I made it for this week's challenge at Stamp Something. I'm so glad I have time this week to do some challenges!!! The hubby and daughter are both out of town!!! Poor hubby is working and my daughter is doing a mission trip of working with our church youth group in Greensburg, KS (town the tornado wiped out a while back). I'm so proud of her! Anyway...this bright birthday card uses the cute cupcake stamps from Stamps and Smiles. This time I dusted off my Prismacolor pencils and mineral spirits to get the really bright colors to match my paper. This paper is "summer stripe" by The Paper Studio. I added baubles in pink, green and blue to match (Robyn's Nest). I' m not sure if you can tell or not, but each present is mounted on dimensional adhesive to raise it up a bit. I really like doing that with some element of my cards:) Hope you have a great day!

New Fairy

This is my card for the Digital Tuesday Challenge this week. We had to use three things, 1 digital image, 2 Designer Papers (background teal and shimmery light teal) and 3 embellishments. This beautiful image is from Sketching Stamper. I am astounded by the art here! I used Copic markers to color the image then two shades of blue chalks to shade around it. The teal drops on the top left are a nifty find from Wal-Mart's Martha Stewart selection. Hope you like her!

Project Tuesday for July 14th

This cute little purse is my contribution to Project Tuesday today! It holds some of those yummy Ghirardelli chocolate squares. The instructions for the little box (which are easy peasy) can be found here. I used the new In Color (from Stampin Up) color Soft Suede, card stock, designer paper and dotted ribbon. I changed my box a little to make it more like a tiny purse. My son's girlfriend is using this as a birthday card for her step mom. I added a strap and black brads to finish it off. The little magnets are a piece of a magnetic business card cut up and placed with Scor-tape. This was a fun and really quick project that I think ends up really cute! There's so much you could do with it! Have a great week!

Pretty Purple Fairy

I made this card as a sketch challenge over at Victoria Case Designs (link). The image is theirs as well. The paper is a set from The Angel Company (last year I think). I just love the colors in it. I colored the image with Copic markers and layered the flower in 3 heights to give it more dimension. The wings are painted with "icicles" Twinkling H2o by Luminarte, then topped with Crystal Effects by Stampin Up for shine. Hope you like her!
