What Nuts?

This cute image is from Dustin Pike. I just love it hehe. Made me chuckle right away! I thought it was perfect for a treat bag cover! This project is for the Digital Tuesday Challenge to use kraft/orange/and an other color. I'm also tossing it in for the Stamp Something Challenge for something fuzzy! Hope you get a chuckle out of it too!

Cookies and Cupcakes Oh My!

Today was rainy and cold...perfect day to spend with Tildas! I had a blast coming up with this card. I'm using it for several challenges so I'll list them below. All the images are Magnolia and colored with Copics. The alphabet is the Paper Studio Alphabet by Stampabilities.
Challenges this is for:
Mojo 110-this sketch
Flourishes-borders
Spoonful of Sugar-cooking theme
Magnolia Down Under-distressed
Have a great weekend and wonderful Halloween!

A Jayhawk Halloween

I had so much fun with this image from Mo's Digital Pencil. I know it's suppose to be a bird costume...but I just couldn't resist turning it into a Kansas Jayhawk! I'm a die hard (and after the last two football games I'm dying!!!) KU fan and am thrilled with how this turned out! I just copied a little Jayhawk and printed it out for his trick or treat sack. My background is sponged with dark blue and purple with a sticky note punched circle for the full moon rising. The tree, bats, and sentiment are all from The Rubber Cafe'. I'm using this card for the Stamp Something Challenge this week...a Halloween themed card. Hope it gave you a chuckle!

The Fresh Batch Sketch #38

I was really thinking pink on this one! I love working with pink and here's my favorite Cuppy set to use with it! I couldn't be more happy with how the frosting turned out either! I think it looks neat! I used Tulip Fabric paint, slick white in the squirt bottle. I topped it with DecoArt Glamour Dust. Too fun! The image is from Stamps and Smiles, Cuppy's Winter Wonderland. The designer paper, ribbon and card stock are all Stampin Up. I used Martha Stewart's border punch for the bottom piece.
Be sure you stop by The Fresh Batch and see everyone's samples of this sketch and join us in playing along!

Dream, Dance, Believe

This is what I created for Mo's Challenge this week. I am enjoying creating for her so much! This precious little lady and the rest of her images can be found here. This week we are challenging everyone to create a card with folds. We'd love for you to play along. All the details of this week's challenge can be found here.

Ella the Elephant

This precious little elephant is my winning from Victoria Case Designs Challenge! I'm so happy to be able to ink it up! This card is for this week's challenge there and the sketch is this week's Friday Sketchers. The VC challenge we were to use ivory, red and brown. I had to add grey hehe. Thanks for looking!

An annoucement and Whimsy Blog candy winner

Hi Everyone,
I have some news to share! I am so thrilled to announce that I was selected to design for the House Mouse Challenge Blog. I was 1 of the 11 finalist and the others were all outstanding, so I feel very lucky to have been chosen! It was a true honor to be included with them, they all create beautiful work. Thanks for the support while I've been waiting! Your comments on my entries were very sweet and mean so much to me!

My other news is the Whimsy Blog Hop candy winner from me! Char was the winner and I will be sending her my fox card and the fall fox stamp. Congrats Char and thanks to everyone for making the hop such a success!!! I appreciate all your sweet comments! Be sure to hit the Whimsy site to see if you are a grand prize winner and sign up for the new newsletter!

Christmas Pup

Isn't this the sweetest lil face? I'm sure Santa will fill his stocking, how could he have been anything but good? This cute lil image is from Angel's Landing, Ho Ho Hollydays. You guys know how I am so crazy about dogs...I knew this would be fun to create with! I colored the pup with Copics and added white flocking to his hat to give it the "fuzzies". I finished it off with a shiny red satin ribbon and bow. A simple layout for a sweet image! Hope you like it too!
p.s. For you cat lovers there is a kitty version of this image!!! You can see it here.

Breaking News!!!! Stamps and Smiles now offering DIGI STAMPS!!!
Click here for all the digi-details!

OH this was fun and one of my favorite projects I've done! I am so happy with how this turned out. Jennifer gave us great directions at Project Tuesday. Be sure you stop by there to see all the wonderful takes on this project! So many great ideas! I went with a winter's night theme. I used Tulip Fabric Paint, slick white (squirt bottle) to make the snow. The glittery trees are from DecoArt's Glamour Dust. I just sprinkle it on top of the fabric paint before it drys. I will warn you that the fabric paint does not work well with any type of water soluble ink. The stamps are all by Magnolia. I sponged the background of the back scene piece with dark blue and purple. The moon is a sticky note punched circle and I sponged over it to keep it white. Easy technique for a great moon or sun!

I'm gonna be so sad when I can't make Halloween cards next week hehe. I love the neat colors and designs! This cutie is from All That Scraps, another digi. This sketch is the challenge from Midnight Madness this week. My corner pieces are the Cuttlebug embossing folder but I reversed the paper and used my black glaze pen in the grooves. It's different :)
Hope you're having a great day!

Elegant Lady

This lovely card is for the Spoonful of Sugar challenge #74. This is my first entry for this challenge. I ran across the blog somewhere and it looked neat! You guys know what a sucker I am for sketch challenges hehe. Anyway... this pretty lady is a digi stamp from Sassy Studio Designs. I love coloring pretty girlies! I am proud that I even addressed the inside of my card! I've been working more on that. I'm also using this card for the Simon Says Challenge for a get well card. I'm also using it for Our Creative Corner's Challenge to reference a favorite Holiday movie or book. My favorite is "The Nutcracker" and this beautiful gown reminds me of the family scene in the Nutcracker where Clara receives her gift. My daughter danced in the ballet version of this a couple times when she was little...ah sweet memories! Lastly for Crazy 4 Challenges...we were to use at least 3 geometric shapes.

p.s. No House Mouse DT news yet...keep your fingers crossed and ty for all the wonderful comments on my project entries! It means so much to me!

I originally posted this Sunday but other than the direct link, it's not displaying on my blog. I am reposting it so others can see it that didn't receive a direct link (i.e. those not in a couple yahoo groups hehe).

It's been a long time since I'd painted an image...it was fun to dust off my watercolor pencils. This is one of the new Magnolia's. I think she's precious...well I say that about all of them hehe. I used my own sketch, but the challenge I did this card for is Flourishes. That pretty ruffle lace is from Hobby Lobby...by the yard...very cheap!!! The peach matching ribbon is actually white taffeta Stampin Up ribbon that I colored with a Copic marker to match! I used E11-that is so handy when an embellishment isn't the color you need!

This is my second entry for the House Mouse Challenge Design Team call, my simple card. It's a regular card...no fancy folds or such. Here goes! I only have 3 pics as this card doesn't have as much for me to show you hehe.

I am really happy with how this turned out! It's very much my style! Don't get me wrong, I love "over the top" as much as the next guy, but this one is just me! I must share that the cute "buttony bow" is a wonderful tutorial by Joanne you can find here. It's really easy and I love how it dresses up a card! Keep your fingers crossed for me! And to all of you who had to help me decide what stamp to use and decide if it was "simple" enough...thanks so much! I'll keep you posted on the results!

Mojo Monday Sketch with a Ketto Girl!

This cutie patootie is from Stamping Bella, their Ketto line. Very tiny and you can't have too many diet cokes before you sit down to color this one! I'm using this card for the MoJo Monday Sketch challenge. I'm not sure it is obvious, but I used black mulberry paper with silver dots and burgundy velvet paper and ribbon! OOoo so yummy! I got the black at a really cool paper store in Seattle WA on a trip with the hubby a few years ago. Told him I'm out so we have to go back again hehe. She is colored with Copics and the silver accents are Smooch. Hope you have a great day!

Sweet Ice Cream

Click HERE for the Whimsy Change of Seasons Blog Hop
Runs through 10/28

This cutie is from All that Scraps. I love their variety of digi stamps! This little card is for their weekly challenge. We were to make a long card. I'm also using it for this week's Creative Inspirations challenge to use a number on a card. Last but not least...this card is also for Cute Card Thursday where we were challenged to make a card with a "sweet or candy" theme. The "U, R, and 2" are die cuts I purchased from my LSS...they keep them in stock but cut them out themselves....LOVE em! I used the Martha Stewart heart border punch for the side...man this punch is just not working well ;( I fought for each punch! The inside letters I've had for ages...they are punched out of two sheets but have no company listed on it. Sorry :( Hope you enjoy my little card and have a lovely weekend!
p.s. The ice cream is tulip fabric paint!
