Spooky Tree
I absolutely love the colors of Halloween and Fall! I used this card for my Stampin Up Club project this weekend. The gals loved it! It looks much more complicated than it is. You punch a circle from a sticky note to hold the moon's spot! That way it gets none of the background colors as you sponge. The tree is on a white piece of cs that is sponged with three rows...bottom row is black, middle row is night of navy, and the top is elegant eggplant. As you sponge these overlap them a bit to blend the colors. After you are happy with the background, remove the sticky note circle and sponge the moon in more mustard. Stamp the tree in black, being sure to get the owl in the moon. This piece is layered on top of more mustard and then night of navy. Sponge around all those in black and spiral punch the top of the night of navy. The base is more mustard with elegant eggplant over. I stamped the small circle (Boho Backgrounds SU) all over the elegant eggplant piece. Run a small piece of black grosgrain across the bottom. Stamp the sentiment on a piece of more mustard and use the large oval to punch it out. Sponge the oval edges with black. Sounds like a lot, but it was pretty quick and the effect is very cool (if I say so myself!) hehe. Hope you enjoy it. The halloween set is House of Haunts from the new SU catalog! Have a great day!
