Asian Floral

I had never really enjoyed the Asian style stamps....I signed up to do a SWAP for my Card Cafe' group. Well...I found out they are really cool and fun to mess around with. The base image of this one (under the vellum) was an experiment I did and almost tossed into the trash! The stamp is one big piece, found it at Michaels. I stamped it in black on white paper. I colored the dress and flowers with prismacolor pencils. I then colored over all that with my Versamark pen and clear embossed it entirely. To get the cool blues in my background I sponged different shades in a wiping motion. I then used a paper towel to clear off the spots where I'd clear embossed so they were their original color again and not blue. I stamped the dogwood floral stamp on a vellum piece with black staz on. Then on the BACK I added the red to the flowers with a regular colored pencil. I turned the vellum back over and added the black detailing and more length to the floral piece with a Black jelly glaze pen. A couple shiny mini black brads and a black frame and voila...a cool card! Who knew!
I want to thank all the wonderful friends of Card Cafe' for voting this their COTM for August! I'm very honored and appreciate their admiration greatly!

I have issues with asian styled stamps too, and love the idea of hiding them a bit under the vellum.
