Kind card of caring

A kind lady named Cammie is giving away the most GINORMOUS blog candy in honor of her Grandmother and World Alzheimer's Day.  She lost her to Alzheimers and is asking for card makers to send out cards in her honor.  This is my contribution.  I am always touched by those who care for others.  Please see her blog here to learn more and participate.

Raining wishes

I had sooooo much fun making this card!  I admit it took me longer than usual though.  I needed to use acetate to create the card for a swap I'm doing.  I knew I wanted to use water somehow so I looked through my stamp stash for something to do with water.  I ran across this set from My Favorite Things.  I am crazy about weiner dogs and hadn't used this set in a while.  The raindrops were stamped on the front with white craft ink (SU).  I figured they'd dry overnight.....WRONG.... so there's no way I could give up on such a cute design.  I decided to put crystal effects (SU) over the raindrops.  The crystal effects dried fine and the raindrops still look wet and have the white under.  The little picture opens to read "Get Well Soon".  I hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it!

Friday Sketcher Challenge #19

Well I liked this sketch much better than last week!  Actually this turned out to be one of my favorite cards I've made.  I love fall colors and think it worked well for this.  It's for the Friday Sketcher Challenge....they random for a winner so that's always fun!  This cute lil girl is a Tilda from the Magnolia line.  My friend Diana Crick hopes to have her web site up and running for them this week!  I promise to let you know!  This particular one is from the Fall Kit which arrived this week.  I have so much fun painting these little faces!!!  Hope you all are enjoying Fall and have a great day!

Bellacake

It's been a while since I did a Bella so I thought I'd share this cutie with you.  I love the sparkly cup cake...well who can ever have enough sparkle?  I used the tombow  mono aqua liquid glue to fill in the entire top of the cupcake.  I then sprinkled very fine glitter (Decoart glamour dust) over it and shook off the excess.  The Bella and cupcake base are colored with watercolor pencils.  Hope you enjoy her!

Friday Sketcher Challenge #18

This is the card I designed for the Friday Sketcher Challenge....boy did it challenge me! I very rarely work with circles. I even have a nifty circle cutter, but I just don't use it or them much. I do love the two Magnolia images working together though. I admit I'm not wild about the butterflies either. My daughter Ashley told me it was cute so I'll let her opinon rule. I hope you like it! Thanks for visiting!

Never too much pink!

This card is another sweet Tilda image I painted with watercolor pencils.  The designer paper is by Paper Salon, First blush.  I used some mulberry papers to add some texture.  I also added lots of pink sticky gems.  This card is for a sketch challenge at "Cute Card Thursday" and it's going to my friend Kim who had some painful dental work done today.  She's crazy for pink so I know she'll love it!  Have a great day!

It's Good To CASE

This card is almost entirely cased from the amazing Zindorf....think I changed stamps and that's about it!  Her work is stunning and I enjoy trying her techniques!  Please visit her site to see some of her amazing creations!  I promise you won't be sorry you did!  I like to print off her tutorials and keep them in a folder for when I need a cool idea!  My Card Cafe' friends voted this as their COTM for September...I thank them very much!  The best part of that is I win all the cards they sent in for the contest...so that's why I enter!!!  Their work is wonderful!

Spooky Tree

I absolutely love the colors of Halloween and Fall!  I used this card for my Stampin Up Club project this weekend.  The gals loved it!  It looks much more complicated than it is.  You punch a circle from a sticky note to hold the moon's spot!  That way it gets none of the background colors as you sponge.  The tree is on a white piece of cs that is sponged with three rows...bottom row is black, middle row is night of navy, and the top is elegant eggplant.  As you sponge these overlap them a bit to blend the colors. After you are happy with the background, remove the sticky note circle and sponge the moon in more mustard.  Stamp the tree in black, being sure to get the owl in the moon.  This piece is layered on top of more mustard and then night of navy.  Sponge around all those in black and spiral punch the top of the night of navy.  The base is more mustard with elegant eggplant over.  I stamped the small circle (Boho Backgrounds SU) all over the elegant eggplant piece.  Run a small piece of black grosgrain across the bottom.  Stamp the sentiment on a piece of more mustard and use the large oval to punch it out.  Sponge the oval edges with black.  Sounds like a lot, but it was pretty quick and the effect is very cool (if I say so myself!) hehe.  Hope you enjoy it.  The halloween set is House of Haunts from the new SU catalog!  Have a great day!
